SCAM ALERT #1

Hello. I want to make a blog showing a scam alert. This is the QR code scam. This takes place when a friend or someone else would DM you saying that you did screwed up stuff with a girl and tells you look at a server in a "#exposing" channel. This whole scam this started just not to long ago it seems.

It would look something like this:

When you join these servers, you wll be taken to a verify channel (the only channel in the server) and tells you to verify yourself. Like this.

However, when you click the verify button on the "Wick" bot, you are greeted with a QR code that you need to scan in the Discord Mobile app.

Whatever you do, DO NOT SCAN THIS QR CODE!. This QR code would send your Discord account information to the scammers that will allow them to log in to your account to scam other people and possibly buy nitro if you have a payment method connected to your account.

Now I did found a couple red flags when I saw this server before I clicked on the verify button.
One red flag is that you can notice the Wick bot is unverified and does NOT have the "Add to Server" button to invite it. The real wick bot is verified.
A second red flag is that if you try to invite the Fake wick bot, the bot has been flagged by the Anti-Spam system
Another sus thing I found is that they have a Level 3 boost and you may wonder HOW does the server have a Level 3 boost? Its simple, they use the hacked accounts money (if they have a payment method connected) to boost the server. Thats how they got a vanity url.
Back to what I mentioned earlier, The REAL wick bot is actually verified by discord. This situation got so bad that the real Wick bot's website warned people that the orignal Wick bot would NOT ask you to scan a QR code through your discord app.

Now I did report this case to discord and a day later after I reported to Discord about this problem, they did respond to me back saying that they will be starting an investigation about this scam problem.

Now after I reported the case to Discord, I tried to ask questions about this scam to the only online Admin in the server but however I have gotten NOTHING from this user.

This is the only server I found that the invite still works. I tried others from older videos but they don't work anymore. Maybe discord already took those down. If that is the case, then we are doing something as a community to fix this issue. Later after I got a response from discord, I checked the invite to this server again and it now shows the invite is now invalid
I can't tell at first if they revoked the invite or Discord actually banned the server. I talked to a couple people and they said the server became banned so we must be doing something about this.

IN CONCLUSION: Do NOT scan QR codes in your discord app by bots like these. Even if the server gets banned, the scammers would still be around and try to come back and scam again. Please spread this awareness to your friends and other people to NOT fall for this.
